What we do

We are a non-profit building Rivulet, an open platform for simulating river basins and searching their futures.

We model whole systems. Reservoirs, hydropower, irrigation, floods, and the hydrology and climate that drive them.

We put agentic AI in the loop. Language-model agents run platform tools and assist in knowledge generation.

The Rivulet platform

Simulation, optimization, and AI in one planning engine.

Rivulet couples a basin simulation engine and local system context with multi-objective decision analysis and design. Planning scenarios and operations are simulated across energy, food, and environmental sectors at scales relevant to affected users, providing the critical information for multi-actor decisions and negotiations. Agentic AI assistance built on foundation models is deeply integrated into the platform's tools, enabling rapid exploration, tooling, and stakeholder interaction and knowledge generation.

01.

Basin simulation

A whole basin in one model. Reservoirs, hydropower, irrigation, and cities, each with its own operators and objectives, simulated together and searched as one system.

02.

Hydrology & climate

Rainfall-runoff models, stochastic streamflow generators, and basin forcings from ISIMIP archives, ready for a plan to be tested against.

03.

Energy

Hydropower on the grid it feeds. Cascades, generation, and demand enter the same search as the water that drives them.

04.

Socio-economics

Who gains and who bears the cost. Irrigators, cities, and downstream communities are actors in the model, so welfare and equity are read actor by actor.

05.

Financial risk

Revenue follows water. Drought exposure, index insurance, and reserve funds are stress-tested against thousands of generated futures.

06.

Agentic AI

Foundation-model agents reach the same tools analysts use. Runs, document edits, and figures, with a record of every turn.
